The sun set for Mr. Charlton &uot;Snap&uot; Flood Sr. on Saturday, March 1, 2003. Mr. Flood was born on Aug. 14, 1922 in Carrsville to the late Mr. William Flood Sr. and Mrs. Lottie Faulk. He was predeceased by a sister, Emma Lee Zeigler, a brother, William Flood Jr., several aunts and uncles.
He had retired as a truck driver for Ramsey Lumber Co.
He was a member of the Greater First Baptist Church Orlando.
His survivors include two brothers, John Leonard (Sheila), and James Leonard (Carolyn), a sister, Mrs. Lendora Hilton (Clifton), all of Baltimore, Md.; one aunt, Mrs. Carrie Johnson (Clarence) of Suffolk; six sons, Charlie Wiggins Sr. of Suffolk; Edward Wiggins of New York; Charlton Flood Jr., (Marion) of Baltimore, Md.; Randy Barnes (Phyllis), Tony Barnes (Quendell) and Charlton Barnes, all of Suffolk; three daughters, Ms. Jean Walker, Inesia Outlaw (Ron Jackson) and Erma Barnes (Robert C.), all of Suffolk; a devoted friend, Ms. Geneva Barnes; 19 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
The funeral will be held Thursday, March 6, at 1 p.m. in Greater First Baptist Church, Orlando where the Rev. Henry G. Baker is pastor. Interment will be in Nansemond-Suffolk Cemetery. Crocker Funeral Home, Suffolk, is handling arrangements.
