Lorenzo L. Davis Sr., 70, of 106 S. Fourth St., Suffolk, died Thursday, Feb. 27, 2003, in Obici Hospital.

Mr. Davis was a native of Suffolk. He was the son of the late Lonnie DeLoatch and Maude Davis.

He was predeceased by a son, Vincent Davis Sr., and a daughter, Jeanell Wells.

He had retired from David L. Levine Construction.

Survivors include a devoted friend, Margaret E. Davis; nine daughters, Margaret A. Artis, Monuelda Holliman, Carolyn Woodson, and husband, James, Angelia Copeland, and husband, Nelson, Patricia Mills, Brenda Lassiter, and husband, Alton, Janice Parker, and husband, Clay, Joyce Jones, and Constance Jones, all of Suffolk; two sons, Lorenzo L. Davis Sr., and wife, Wendy, of Richmond; and Lonnie William of Norfolk; one daughter-in-law, Rose Davis of Portsmouth; one son-in-law, Michael Wells Sr. of Suffolk; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 4 in New Mt. Joy Family Worship Center with Dr. W.P. Wiggins officiating.

Burial will follow in Canaan Baptist Church Cemetery.

The body will be taken to the church at 11 a.m. the day of the service.

The family will assemble at 1111 E. Washington St. at noon.
