On March 1, Jonathan Baines (right) and Jerry Plain competed in the Virginia State TaeKwonDo Association’s U.S. Open in Alexandria. The men are assistant instructors of Wayne Spencer’s Warrior Club, which holds classes at the Suffolk YMCA and Triple T’s Gymnastic School. Baines won two silvers and Plain two bronze, qualifying for national competition in July in Orlando, Fla.
