Howard Stephens of 110 Lewis Ave., Suffolk, died Thursday, March 13, 2003, in Obici Hospital.

He was a native of Southampton County, and a son of the late Roland and Pinkie Pearson Stephens.

He had retired as a truck driver for Suffolk Concrete Co.

He was a member of Pleasant Union Baptist Church, where he was a past church trustee.

He is survived by his wife, Mildred Stephens; three brothers; and other relatives.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 18 in Pleasant Union Baptist Church by Dr. Vaurice T. Chambers. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
