Teacher picked for fellowship

Laura Pritchard, chosen as a Mandel Fellow for 2002/2003 by the Mandel Teacher Fellowship, recently received the honor of her lesson, &uot;Individual Responsibility and Resistance&uot; being chosen for the Arthur and Rochelle Belfer Exemplary Lessons Initiative.
As a Mandel Fellow Pritchard represents a national corps of skilled teachers serving as Leaders in Holocaust education.
Pritchard represents Nansemond-Suffolk Academy as well as the community and other professional organizations.
This most recent honor, the chosen lesson, will be published on the Holocaust Museum’s Web site as well as being available in print format.
&uot;Individual Responsibility and Resistance&uot; was awarded publication based on historical accuracy, engagement of the students, innovative approach, demand of the student for critical thinking, broad applicability (practical for most classrooms), and other criteria.
