Margaret Pruden

Margaret Pruden, 94, died Wednesday, March 19, 2003, in Courtland Healthcare Center.
Born on Jan. 26, 1909, in Nansemond County, she was a daughter of the late Robert B. and Mary Boone Hunter. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Bennie Pruden; five brothers, Jessie, Joseph, Ruben, Elard, and Clifton Hunter; one sister, French H. Wiggins; and a foster sister, Elizabeth H. Brown.
Mrs. Pruden joined the Corinth Chapel Church in her youth and remained a member until her passing.
Survivors include her daughter, Delois P. Jones; one sister, Mrs. Linnie H. Smith of Courtland, two brothers, Percy Hunter (wife, Catherine) and Edward Hunter (wife, Jean), both of Chesapeake; two grandsons, Thaddius Jones (wife, Sophonia), of Suffolk and Marvin Jones of Washington, D.C.; two granddaughters, Janita Watson (husband, Lloyd), of Hampton and Vonda Davis (husband, Keith), of Chesterfield, four great-grandchildren several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
The funeral will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 22, in Corinth Chapel with the Rev. Carl Sweat Jr. officiating. Interment will be in the Hunter Cemetery with Peebles Funeral Home in charge.
The family will be at the home of her daughter, 5649 Greenwood Rd., Suffolk.
