Marion E. Parsons, 87, died Sunday, March 23, 2003.

Born on Aug. 17, 1915, in Norfolk County, she was the daughter of the late Mary Edna Dishardoon and Edwin A. Phelps and the widow of Edward R. Parsons Jr. She was a member of Providence United Methodist Church and the Providence Quilters Guild. She was a member of the Berkley Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Survivors include a daughter, Nancy P. O’Berry and husband Lee; one sister, Anne Sloop of Richmond; two brothers, Melvin Phelps of Chesapeake and Bernard Phelps of Jacksonville, Fla.; grandchildren, Bradlee Jennings, William O’Berry Jr. and George O’Berry.

The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home by the Rev. Hank Teague with burial in Riverside Cemetery on Indian River Rd.

The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. in the funeral home.
