Editor, the News-Herald:
Based on an awareness and acknowledgement of high standards of excellence in education in our city, it’s an important segment of the Suffolk Substitute Teachers’ Association to give proper attention to Superintendent Milton Liverman and the Suffolk School Board.
Upon a thorough analysis of material and information being in current research, the superintendent’s proposed biennial budget included a 5 percent increase for countless substitutes.
A clear announcement of a pay scale increase for substitute teachers of 5 percent was finalized by finance director Michael Brinkley at the March 13 School Board meeting.
The Substitute Teachers’ Association wants to take time to simultaneously thank Supt. Liverman for his reinforcing role and the stable nucleus of the School Board in situations in which substitute teachers are required.
