Daisy L. Pitchford

Daisy Mae Leary Pitchford, 74, of 103 Hawk Lane, Suffolk, died Monday, March 24, 2003, at her residence.

She was a native of Nansemond County, and the daughter of the late Sylvester and Edna Jordan Leary, and the widow of Edward Pitchford Sr. She is preceded in death by a daughter, Ethel Singleton.

She had retired form Bill Forrest Seafood.

She was a member of Diamond Grove Baptist Church.

She is survived by three daughters, Daisy Finch of Baltimore, Md.; Stephanie Cargill, and her husband, Alphonsa, of Suffolk; and Jada Coward, and her husband, Rainado, of Hampton; four sons, Edward Pitchford and John Howard Pitchford, both of Baltimore, Md.; and Edward T. Pitchford Jr., and his wife, Mary, and Stevenson Pitchford, both of Suffolk; one brother, George D. Jordan, and wife, Maria, of San Antonio, Texas; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren; one son-in-law, George Singleton; three aunts, Mrs. Floris Brown, Mrs. Edna Jordan and Mrs. Delma Ensley; a special friend, Emanuel D. Smith; nieces, nephews cousins, and friends.

The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 29, in Crocker Funeral Home, by the Rev. Miles Jordan. Interment will be in Oakland Cemetery.
