The marriage of Janet R. Chappell and Steven G. Ambrose took place at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, in Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church, Manteo, N.C.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.R. Chappell of Corolla, N.C., formerly of Suffolk.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Ambrose of Spring Hill, Fla., formerly of Southern Shores, N.C.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

The Rev. George D. Speake performed the double-ring ceremony.

Lisa Crumpler of Suffolk was her sister’s matron of honor.

Bridesmaids were Laura Baker of Southern Shores, Sherriann Curles of Powell Point, N.C., and Merry Sue Foster of Hatteras, N.C.

Flower girls were Taylor Crumpler and Madison Crumpler of Suffolk, nieces of the bride.

Ralph Ambrose was his son’s best man.

Groomsmen were Michael Barclay of Adylett, N.C., Benson Porter of Lutz, Fla., brother-in-law of the groom, and David Rhode of Southern Shores.

Ushers were Larry Barker of Southern Shores and Darel Crumpler of Suffolk, brother-in-law of the bride.

Ringbearer was Trey Porter of Lutz, nephew of the groom.

Mistresses of ceremony were Carla Waugh of Chesapeake and Malissa Suggs of Corolla.

A reception was held at 108 Budleigh in Manteo.

After a three-week honeymoon in Thailand, the couple will reside in Southern Shores.
