Mary W. Fraser

Mary Louise Wise Fraser, age 89, of Statesboro, Ga., died Wednesday, April 9, 2003, at Southern Manor. She was a native of Norfolk and had lived in Bulloch County since 1982. She was the daughter of the late Bernard Tankard and Marie Griffith Wise. Mrs. Fraser was preceded in death by her brother, William Perry Wise of Norfolk.
She was a member of the Oxford Methodist Church in Suffolk, and was a past president of the Women of Oxford Methodist Church. She was also a past president of the Women’s Auxiliary Board of Obici Hospital, and was a past member of the Suffolk Garden Club and the Statesboro Women’s Club.
Surviving are two sons, Walter J. Fraser, and his wife, Lynn, of Savannah, Ga.; and William Perry Fraser of Cumming, Ga.; five grandchildren, Walter J. Fraser III, and his wife, Erin, of Bronxville, N.Y.; Thomas Candler Fraser of Knoxsville, Tenn.; Becky Fraser Heidmann of Richardson, Texas, and Austin and Arden Fraser of Cumming; two great-granddaughters, Fernanda Smith Fraser and Philippa Wise Fraser, both of Bronxville; one great-grandson, Emerson Heidmann of Richardson; one sister-in-law, Vernell Eason Wise; two nieces, Perry Wise Bussard and Sally Wise, all of Norfolk.
The graveside service for Mrs. Fraser will be held at noon Monday in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Norfolk.
