Louise G. Simons

Louise Gardner Simons, 90, died April 20, 2003. Born in Ahoskie, N.C. on June 3, 1912, she was a daughter of the late Bettie Sue Worrell and Jesse Daniel Gardner and the widow of Edward Osborne Simons.
She was a member of Suffolk Christian Church and also attended Oakland Christian Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Susan S. Barnes and her husband Joe of Suffolk; one son, Phillip Gardner Simons and his wife, Donna T. of Roebuck, S.C.; grandchildren, Joseph C. Milburn, III and his wife, Lisa of Suffolk; Melissa Milburn Redfern and her husband, Brian of Rock Hill, S.C.; and Shawn D. Simons of Abington; step grandchildren, Rhiannon Wyatt and her husband Daniel and D.J. Wooten, all of Spartanburg, S.C.; great grandchildren, Greyson A. Milburn and Johanna C. Milburn, both of Suffolk; two nephews, Thomas G. Hines and his wife, Marion of Suffolk and Gary Hines and his wife Ann of Midlothian; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, in Holly Lawn Cemetery by the Revs. Michael D. Halley and Mark Burns. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today in the R.W. Baker & Co., Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to the Nansemond-Suffolk Rescue Squad,
