Magnolia United Methodist Church has started spring out right for the last 14 years and now the congregation is planning to hold its 15th annual Spring Fest this Saturday from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m.
Joe Garlitz, co-chairman along with his wife Sue, said that the purpose for this fun outreach ministry is to bring
the church and public together in a pleasant and fun-filled atmosphere.
&uot;We want people to become a part of this celebration and there will be fun and fellowship for the entire family the entire day,&uot; he said. &uot;So we want as many people as possible to come and spend an hour or an entire day with us.&uot;
The celebration will include the following activities: an indoor yard sale, bake sale, fresh plant sale, an action auction, contests, face painting, clowns, games, music, dance with the Suffolk Cloggers, craft tables by the Suffolk Kiwanis Club, balloons and a huge garage sale.
&uot;The Suffolk Cloggers are always a big hit with the crowd and got their start at this event a few years ago,&uot; said Garlitz. &uot;This Spring Fest is a big thing with us and we have seen the crowds grow bigger every year. Last year about 500 people attended and we are looking forward to even more this year. We always plan and prepare for big crowds.&uot;
Magnolia United Methodist Church is located at 1764 Wilroy Rd. at the Route 58 by-pass.
The pastor of the church is Mike Derflinger.
