Nelson K. Crutchfield Sr.

Nelson Kendrick Crutchfield Sr., 54, of the 2500 block of Pruden Boulevard, Suffolk, died Thursday, May 1, 2003 in a Suffolk hospital.

He was a native of Christiansburg, and had retired as a vice president from Manry Rawls Corp Insurance in Franklin. He was a member of Magnolia United Methodist Church, a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War, and Independent Insurance Agents of Virginia.

He is preceded in death by his father, Samuel C. Crutchfield, and mother, Dorothy Childress Edwards.

He is survived by his wife, Jackie L. Crutchfield; two sons, Nelson &uot;Nick&uot; Crutchfield Jr. of Norfolk and Jonathan Andrew Crutchfield of Suffolk; three brothers, Michael Crutchfield from Anza, Calif.; Eric Crutchfield of Roseville, Calif.; and Dana Edwards of Fuquay-Varina, N.C.; an aunt, Wilma Williams from Portsmouth; a cousin, Dreama Lott from Suffolk; and several nieces and nephews and cousins.

The memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, in Magnolia United Methodist Church by Pastor Michael Derflinger.
