Walton and Molly Rutherfoord announce the engagement of their daughter, Gennette, to Stephen Paul Huber.

He is the son of Steve and Pam Huber of Suffolk.

Miss Rutherfoord is the maternal granddaughter of Dr. and Mrs. Robert Durden of Durham, N.C., and paternal granddaughter of Mr. Thomas Rutherfoord of Roanoke, and the late Dona Rutherfoord.

Mr. Huber is the maternal grandson of Mr. and Mrs. George R. Vinson of Suffolk, and the paternal grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Lester Huber of Winchester, Ky.

Miss Rutherfoord is a graduate of Patrick Henry High School and Virginia Tech.

She is employed by Bent Tree Farm Ltd. in Shawsville.

Mr. Huber is a graduate of Nansemond-Suffolk Academy and Virginia Tech.

He is working toward a master’s degree in accounting and information systerms at Virginia Tech.

A wedding is scheduled for Nov. 1 on Kiawah Island, S.C.
