Carrie Lee Wright, 80, of 628 Adkins Circle, Suffolk, died May 3, 2003, in Obici Hospital. A native of Southampton County, she was daughter of the late Luddie Worrell Sr., and Annie Worrell and the widow of Willie Wright Sr.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Luddie Worrell Jr. and Thomas Worrell.
She was a member of St. Paul R.Z.U.A. Church where she was Mother of the church, president of the Missionary Board, singer for the Sunday School Union, and Outreach worker for the church.
She is survived by four sons, Carl Worrell of Newport News, Rolidon Worrell, Willie Wright Jr., and Eddie Wright, all of Suffolk; one daughter, Juanita Wright of Brooklyn, N.Y.; four sisters, Ann Stephenson and Linda Parker, both of Murfreesboro, N.C.; Harriet Morris of Richmond; and Geraldine Jefferson of Atlanta, Ga.; four grandchildren, Janice Wright, Meronica Wright, RaVen Brown, and Donte’ Williams; nieces nephews, cousins, and many friends.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 8, in St. Paul R.Z.U.A. Church by Dr. Edward P. Foreman. Interment will be Carver Memorial Cemetery. The body will be taken to the church at 12:30 p.m. Crocker Funeral Home, Suffolk, is handling arrangements.
