Watsons observe golden anniversary

Elaine and Junius Watson Sr. of Suffolk celebrated their 50th anniversary on Wednesday, April 16. On Saturday, April 19, the couple was surprised by a day coordinated by their three children, six grandchildren and niece, Edith Lavern McAllister, and her family, at the Arena Stage Theatre in Washington, D.C.
They, along with family and friends, saw the musical &uot;Ain’t Misbehavin’&uot; by Fats Waller. Later they further enjoyed their fellowship at a leading restaurant in Columbia, Md.
On Sunday the family and friends worshipped together at Reid Temple AME Church. The service was held on the campus of the University of Maryland College Park. After which they were entertained at the home of their daughter, Elaine Watson Morris.
The following day after visiting with their son, Junius T. Watson Jr., and his family, they were taken on a tour of the Eastern Shore.
