Samantha Julane Russell awarded Suffolk Woman’s Club Scholarship

The Suffolk Woman’s Club, a member of the GFWC – Virginia, has presented its 2003 scholarship to Nansemond-Suffolk Academy graduate Samantha Julane Russell.
She is planning to continue her education at the University of Georgia with a possible major in pre-medicine/pre-veterinary.
Russell was a member of the National Honor Society. She was active and received a National Latin Award (cum laude), National Spanish Award and had art and poetry published in the school’s library magazine.
In grades 8-12 she participated in field hockey and software.
She is a member of Main Street UNIC and is involved with the Youth Fellowship.
She was a volunteer at a nursing home, a veterinary clinic and a thrift store.
She was a team leader and sponsor in the National Cancer Society’s Relay for Life in Suffolk.
She is the daughter of James F. Russell, and the late Julane Speer Russell.
