Frances Alwood, director of the Suffolk Habitat for Humanity, and Wendell Waller, attorney for the Suffolk School Board, are being recognized for their contributions to the community, said Shannon Glover, the organization’s president.
Toastmasters is an international organization that helps members master public-speaking and communications skills by making speeches in a practice environment.
Past members and interested local residents are invited to the Suffolk club’s anniversary meeting at Birdsong Recreation Center from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, June 26. People planning to attend are asked to R.S.V.P by Tuesday, June 24 by calling 934-8922 or 876-5775.
