Michella Leigh Parr of Suffolk was named to the spring 2003 Dean’s List of Campbell University in Buies Creek, N.C.

CARBONDALE, Ill. – Southern Illinois University Carbondale has named the following six Suffolk students to its spring semester military Deans’ List. These students make up the top 15 percent of the University’s undergraduate student body. Deans’ List recognition goes to students who compile grade-point averages that meet or exceed performance standards set by SIUC’s various schools and colleges.
The minimum standards vary by college and range from 3.25 to 3.75 on a scale of 4.0 (perfect). The asterisk denotes straight &uot;A&uot; grades for the semester.

National Beta Club
The National Beta Club has named Rebecca L. Merrick as a Beta Scholar, which entitles her to a scholarship award of $1,000.
She is the daughter of Drs. Curtiss and Margaret Merrick, and is the granddaughter of Frances Jones Cleveland of Suffolk, and Margaret Paul Merrick of Beaufort, N.C.
