Basic heat safety tips

?Drink plenty of water before during, during and after spending time outdoors during the heat of the day.
?Wear loose-fitting, lightweight clothing, a hat and sunscreen while out in the sun.
?Reduce or reschedule strenuous outdoor activities to the coolest time of the day.
?Never leave a child or a pet alone in the car, even with the windows rolled down. Temperatures can rise to well over 100 degrees in a car min a few minutes.
?Make sure pets and livestock have plenty of water and shelter from the sun.
?If you feel faint or tired, take a break in the shade or in air-conditioned building.
