Ethel W. Harcum

Ethel Wright Harcum, 85, a native of Gates, N.C. and a resident of Suffolk, died Tuesday, July 8, 2003.
She was the daughter of the late Thomas L. and Berta M. L. Wright, and the widow of James Abram Harcum.
She had retired after 33 years as a bookkeeper for the Dutch Market.
She was a member of Holly Neck United Church of Christ in which she attended the Ladies Bible Class.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Jerry A. and Judy Harcum of Suffolk; grandchildren, Julie H. Masters and Lisa H. Branchaud, both of Suffolk; Renee M. Harcum of Charlottesville; and Jim G. Harcum of Suffolk; great-grandchildren, Heather L. Harcum, Holly M. Harcum, Logan M. Masters, Kristin B. Branchaud, Ryan C. Chavis, Justin A. Chavis, Jason T. Chavis, and Shae E. Masters, all of Suffolk; and brother, Alton Wright of Suffolk.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 10, in Parr Funeral Home with the Rev. Dolan Talbert officiating. Interment will be in Holland Cemetery.
Friends may join the family other times at the residence of Jerry and Judy Harcum at 8504 Southwestern Blvd., Suffolk.
