Albert M. Sebrell

Albert Marquis Sebrell was born on Jan. 3, 1968, in Suffolk, to Albert Council Jr. and Vernell Sebrell, and died Thursday, July 3, 2003.
At an early age Albert had an independent nature and moved in with the late Vernell Weaver and her son Eric who welcomed him into the family as one of their own.
He began his journey toward Islam in the late 1980s. Upon receiving his high school equivalency, Albert received a degree in applied science from Community College of Philadelphia, Albert furthered his education in the culinary arts by becoming a chef. He worked in some of the finest restaurants in the Philadelphia area.
In the early 1990s he was head chef at one of the Philadelphia Correctional facilities, but a back injury forced him to give up the job he loved.
Albert’s entrepreneurial spirit and will led him to becoming the owner and operator of Excalibur Catering and the Fat Albert Lunch Truck, years later he founded and operated Sebrell Towing and Recovery Service until the time of his departure.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Nyfesia; three sons, Marquies, Khalif and Markel; his father Albert (Della) Council Jr.; his mother Vernell Sebrell; two brothers, Phillip (Kianna) Sebrell and Eric Weaver; three sisters, Minister LeVisa Council, LaMonica Council, Lindette (Richard) Hendricks-Andrews; one uncle William (Ruth) Council; one step brother William Sabrina Urquhart; and four step sisters, Sheila Urquhart, Lavern Urquhart, Tricia Ann (Larry) Jones, Glinner (Tieran) Wilson; and a host of relatives and friends.
The funeral was held Monday, July 7, at Masjid Muhammad in Philadelphia, Pa.
