James E. Worrell

James Edward Worrell of 2203 Vermont Ave., Suffolk, son of the late Ed and Cora Pugh Worrell, was called home Monday, July 14, 2003 in Maryview Nursing Center. Two brothers, Charles Worrell and William Worrell and one sister, Juanita Worrell, preceded him in death.

He had retired as a material inventory specialist from Norfolk Supply Center.

He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church where he was a trustee, former treasure of the church, and served on the Usher Board.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Mary &uot;Mickey&uot; Worrell; two sons, Melvin &uot;Pig&uot; Worrell, and his wife, Dianne, of Suffolk; and Victor Tyrone Worrell, and his wife, Alberta, of Chesapeake; three stepdaughters, Sharon Skinner, and her husband, Anthony, of Chesapeake; Tarsha Boyd of Suffolk, and Nikia Davis, and her husband, Julius, of Richmond; one sister, Odessa Daughtrey of Suffolk; a devoted niece, Michelle Boone, and her husband, Nigel; a son-in-law, Sterling Taylor, and his wife, Robin, of Jacksonville, Fla.; 14 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.,

The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, July 18, in Oak Grove Baptist Church by Dr. Anthony Copeland. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Church Cemetery.

Crocker Funeral Home, Suffolk, is handling arrangements.
