Margaret Lois Powell, 58, of 424 Briggs St., Suffolk, died Monday, July 14, 2003, in Obici Hospital.

She was a native of Southampton County and a daughter of the late McCoy Moore and Margaret M. Britt. She was predeceased by her stepfather Lee Parker, a son, Enoch Moore, a brother, Everett McCory Moore, and a sister, Elise Byrum.

She is survived by one son, Dwayne Moore Sr. of Suffolk; a daughter-in-law, Vivian Moore of Suffolk; three brothers, Enoch Moore Sr. of Suffolk; Joe L. Moore of Harrisburg, Pa.; and Edward Lee Parker of San Antonio, Texas; seven sisters, Lillie Mae Harris, Eva L. Taylor, both of Suffolk; Dorothea Scott, Mary L. Parker, both of Murfreesboro, N.C.; Martha Ann Holloman of Ahoskie, N .C.; Gloria J. Robinson of Norfolk; and Cassandra Brown of Upper Marlboro, Md.; a sister-in-law, Virginia Moore; two grandchildren Dwayne Moore Jr. and Jessica Moore, both of Suffolk; a devoted friend, Alvin Darden of Suffolk; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 19, in Sixth Street Baptist Church by Rev. James Williams. Interment will be in Oaklawn Cemetery.
