Mary Damiani (left) talks with Frances Carr of the Pilot Club of Suffolk Inc. about the Queen’s Luncheon, which will herald the annual Peanut Fest on Oct. 9 – 12. With the exception of last year, Mrs. Damiani has attended every luncheon, which is annually hosted by the club. Naturally, she has also attended many other Fest activities. Mrs. Damiani has her ticket, and you can get yours now for only $15 per person at Essex Bank on Godwin Boulevard; ask for Mary Ellen Browning. The event will take place from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 2, and has been moved from the Shrine Club back to the National Guard Armory on Godwin Boulevard. News Channel 3’s Lisa Godley will be the mistress of ceremony. The menu will feature fried chicken, ham biscuit, marinated veggie salad, Waldorf salad, and brownies. In addition to the meal, the program will include the presentation of the Peanut Fest Queen and her court, which was chosen by the Peanut Fest Committee. For the fashion show, clothes will provided by Denison’s and Richardson & Nash. Jessie Johnson is the fest chairman this year.
