Zack Johnson Jr. entered into eternal rest Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2003.

He was born in Suffolk on Sept. 7, 1927, to the late Zack Johnson Sr. and Pearl Johnson. His wife, Magelene Smith Johnson, predeceased him.

He was a self-employed barber.

He is survived by two sons, Nathaniel Sr. (Mary F.) of Suffolk; and Daniel (Barbara) of Chesapeake; one daughter, Sharlene J. (Terry J.) Elliott of Suffolk; one brother-in-law, Willie Smith of Newport News; three sisters-in-law, Mary Wheeler of North Carolina; Rose Marie Johnson of California; Virginia Johnson of Washington, D.C.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 11, in St. Timothy Baptist Church. Interment will be in Carver Memorial Park Cemetery

Viewing will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 10, in T.E. Cooke-Overton Funeral Home.

The family will greet friends at 105 Foxworth Court, and will meet there at noon Monday for the procession.
