Delsie W. Privott

Delsie W. Privott, born on March 5, 1929, departed this life Sunday, Aug. 10, 2003, while at her residence located at 221 N. Seventh St., Suffolk, with her beloved husband of 55 years, Deacon Linwood Privott.
She was predeceased by her parents, the late Nathaniel and Mary Wilder; her brothers, Tom Wilder, Archie Lee Wilder, Jimmy Wilder, Joe Wilder, Moses Wilder, and Elbert Wilder; and her sister, Mary Stallings. She was the mother of one child, Mary Ann Wilson, and son-in-law, Larry Wilson, the grandmother of two grandchildren, Tarnisha Hinton Smith (&uot;JR&uot;) and Terra Hinton.
She was an active and faithful member, deaconess and missionary of Rising Saint James Pentecostal Holiness Church, where Bishop Dwight Whitfield is the pastor. She served in the Senior Choir, the Helping Hand Club/Hospitality Committee and the Senior Usher Board.
She had retired from Nansemond-Suffolk Academy.
She leaves to cherish her memory three sisters, Minnie Morris of Edenton, N.C.; Elizabeth Taylor of Suffolk; and Olivia Wilder of Boston, Mass.; brothers-in-law, the Rev. Willis Privott (Ida) and Rev. Raymond Privott (Charlotte); sisters-in-law, Mattie Privott and Odessa Privott; godchildren, Della Urqhart, Michelle Joe, Jamie Copeland, Jabara Copeland, Nikia Copeland, Sherita Wright, and Lavone Sessoms; special &uot;grandma&uot; to Skye Bynum and Khadijah Ward; and many beloved family and friends.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in Rising St. James Pentecostal Holiness Church. The interment will be held at Carver Memorial Cemetery.
Viewing will take place in Crocker Funeral Home.
