Come to the powwow!

Joyce Story and Carpitha Sococo, both members of the Nansemond Indian tribe, are sure to be present at the tribe’s 16th annual powwow, which will take place from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. this Saturday and Sunday at the Lone Star Lakes Lodge in Chuckatuck. The grand entry takes place at noon Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday. Traditional and fancy dancing, Native American demonstration, arts and crafts, jewelry, and dream catchers will be featured.
