Sandra L. Julias

Sandra L. Julias of Lewisburg, W.Va., passed away Saturday, Aug. 16, 2003, in her home, of cancer.

Mrs. Julias was born in Suffolk, and was the daughter of Margaret Boykin Blanchard of Sunbury, N.C., and the late John Millard Pettyjohn, who lived in Atlanta, Ga. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Stephen Julias, M.D.

She received her registered nursing degree from Louise Obici School of Nursing in Suffolk, and was a health educator with the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine.

She was a member of Chapter O PEO Sisterhood, and a member of the Savannah Garden Club.

Survivors include her mother, Margaret Boykin Blanchard of Sunbury; two sons, Stephen G. Julias of Richmond; and John G. Julias, and wife, Julie, of Frederick, Md.; two brothers, George M. Pettyjohn, and wife, Barbara, of Dover, Del.; and Robert E. Pettyjohn, and wife, Carol, of Williamsburg; three aunts, Marian P. Nixon of Needham, Mass.; Orian P. Rieley of Virginia Beach; and Dorothy H. Hines of Suffolk; and several cousins.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 19, in Old Stone Presbyterian Church, Lewisburg, by Dr. Dexter Taylor. Burial will be in Rosewood Cemetery.

Visitation takes place from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, Aug. 18, in the Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home, 102 N. Jefferson St., Lewisburg.
