Mabel C. Grissom

Mabel Carroll Grissom, 89, died Aug. 17, 2003, in Windsor.
Born Feb. 26, 1914, in Warrenton, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Robert and Alberta Carroll and widow of the Rev. William Alphonso Grissom. Mrs. Grissom was a member of Liberty Spring Christian Church. She was very active in the churches that her husband served over the years including Liberty Spring Christian Church, Windsor Christian Church, and Isle of Wight Christian Church.
Survivors include her daughters, Nancy Bland, her husband, Charles Bland, of Windsor; Peggy Walker and her husband, the Rev. Dr. EddieWalker of Luray; and Judy Robinson of Windsor; grandchildren and their spouses, Susan and Craig Curwood of Richmond, Kevin and Amy Bland of Windsor; Chris and Brandy Blythe of Smithfield; Brandon Blythe of Portsmouth, Loren Blythe of Smithfield, and Neil Robinson and Alex Robinson, both of Windsor.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Liberty Spring Christian Church by the Rev. Basil Ballard and the Rev. Dr. Eddie Walker with burial in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday in the R.W. Baker & Co Funeral Home &Crematory. Memorial donations may be made to Liberty Spring Christian Church or Windsor Christian Church Building Fund.
