Cecil S. Pittman

Mrs. Cecil S. Pittman of 8272 Crittenden Road, Suffolk, died Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2003, in Beverly Manor Nursing Home.

A native of Nansemond County, she was a daughter of the late Joseph C. Brinkley and Pauline Brinkley-Scott, and widow of Curtis Pittman.

She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church, Hobson, its Usher Board and Missionary Circle.

She is survived by a daughter, Terry R. Wilson of Portsmouth; a devoted niece, Margaret Brown of Windsor; two sisters, Daisy Mann and Bernice Hill, both of Suffolk; five step-brothers, John Scott of Suffolk; Joe Scott of Portsmouth; William Scott and Jackson Scott, both of Newport News; and James Scott (Patricia) of Baltimore, Md; seven step-sisters, Josephine Bradby and Alma Wooten (Ernest) of Baltimore; Pearline Fulgham, Kay Pittman, Lillie Wellons, and Harriett Erma Scott, all of Suffolk; and Mary Rice of Portsmouth; two sisters-in-law, Thelma Allen and Alberta Pittman, both of Suffolk; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

The funeral will be held at noon Saturday in Macedonia Baptist Church by the Rev. Jeffrey Knight. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the residence of Mrs. Bernice Hill at 1701 Pine Acres Lane.
