Riverson B. Langston

Riverson B. Langston, 73, of 7113 Elwood Road, Suffolk, died Thursday, Aug. 28, 2003, in Obici Hospital.

A native of Nansemond County, he was the son of the late Mollie Pierce and Arthur Langston.

He had retired in 1993 as an electric truck operator after 41 years of service for Planters Peanuts.

He was a member of Holland Mission United Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Mary L. Langston; two daughters, Mollie Hamilton of Cedar Hill, Texas; and Glenda Langston of Suffolk; two sisters, Flossie Eure of Suffolk; and Louise Langston of Patterson, N.J.; two brothers, Redell Langston (Mollie) of Patterson; and Raymond Langston (Magdaline) of Suffolk; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends, Earl Keys and Johnnie White.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 2, in Holland Mission United Church of Christ by the Rev. Freddie Hines. Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery.

Viewing begins at 10 .am. Monday in Abraham Applewhite and Sons Funeral Home.

The body will be placed in the church at noon Tuesday.

The family will assemble at 1:15 p.m. Tuesday for the service.
