Lyman J. Tripp Sr.

Lyman Jackson Tripp Sr., 88, died Aug. 31, 2003.
Born Dec. 26, 1914, in Winterville, N.C., he was a son of the late Minnie McLawhorn and Rufus C. Tripp.
Mr. Tripp was retired from the Virginia Department of Transportation as a right of way agent. He was a member of McAlister Masonic Lodge # 185, Great Fork Baptist Church where he was a former deacon, and Box Elder Hunt Club.
Survivors include his wife, Ella Sue Tripp; one daughter, Joyce Tripp Miler of Alpharetta, Ga.; two sons, Lyman J. Tripp Jr. of Rockledge, Fla. And Alan H. Tripp of Boise, Idaho; five grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 11 a.m. in the R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home and Crematory by the Rev. Jonathan Judy, with burial in Holly Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
