On Monday, Sept. 1, 2003, Paris Strong Salih of Newport News departed this life. She was born on June 19, 1948, and was a 1967 graduate of John F. Kennedy High School, Suffolk.

She was preceded in death by her father, James Strong, and mother, Viola Strong Ward.

She leaves to cherish her memory three daughters, Likisha, Channa and Eboni Pruden; one son, Damion Pruden; 11 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; five sisters, Sonjia Moore, Phyllis Wiggins, Desiree Brown, Sheena and Jamie Strong; two aunts, Margaret Sweat and Ruth Blackmon; two nieces, three nephews and many relatives and friends.

The funeral will be held at noon Saturday in Cooke Brothers-Shivers Funeral Chapel with Bishop V. L.Artis officiating.

Viewing will be held from 1-7 p.m. Friday in the chapel.
