A 57-year-old Suffolk man was killed Saturday while cutting the embankment of a pond in the 4300 block of Lake Point Drive.

Judson C. Blowe of the 3000 block of Mockingbird Lane was discovered in the pond with a large lawn tractor on top of him around 2:45 p.m., said Lt. Debbie George, interim spokeswoman for the Suffolk Police Department. Neighbors began searching for Blowe after the property owner couldn’t locate him.

Preliminary investigation indicates Blowe’s death was accidental, George said.
