Members and friends of Holy Neck United Church of Christ recently enjoyed their annual church picnic, which centered on a 1950s theme. The program included many celebrities singing and playing popular songs from the era.
Highlights of the night were the crowning of Ellis and Howard Holland Jr. as queen and king, and a visit from &uot;Elvis Presley&uot; himself.
Vacation Bible School for 2003 was held from Aug. 11 – 15.
The theme, SCUBA – Super Cool Undersea Bible Adventure – included: the Preschool Tide Pool; Sing and Play Splash; Undersea Crafts; Splish-Splash Games; Dive-in Diner; Deep Bible Adventures; Chadder’s Undersea Adventures; and the Sea Star Finale.
Fifty-seven students and 53 leaders, under the direction of Georgie Copeland and Lisa Reece, attended.
The Bible School Mission project was to collect new shoes and socks for underprivileged children.
Revival services were held each night from Aug. 24 – 27. We were very pleased to have the Rev. Bill Presley, who has retired from Reynoldson Baptist Church, as our speaker.
