George L. Babb

George Louis Babb, 85, of 1108 Myrtle St., Suffolk, died on Sept. 14, 2003 in Obici Hospital. He was a native of Nansemond County.
He retired after having 25 years with the civil service and had retired from Obici Hospital with 25 years of service in the maintenance department.
He was the widower of Blanche O. Byrd Babb and was a member of Cypress Chapel Christian Church. He was also the son of the late George A. Babb and Naomi Ashley Babb. He was also predeceased by three sisters, Susie B. Gardner, Cornelia B. Russell, and Gladys B. Powell; and five brothers, Lycurgus Babb, Paul Babb, Oscar Babb, Herman Babb and Herbert Babb.
He is survived by a daughter, Linda B. Warren of Suffolk; grandchildren, Mark L. and Jennifer Capps of Franklin; William &uot;Clark&uot; and Michelle Capps of Suffolk; Keith and Amy Warren of Virginia Beach; and Michael and Michelle Warren of Gatesville, N.C.; great-grandchildren, Erin, Sarah and Tyler Capps and Dillon and Madison Warren.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday with Dr. John R. Kimball officiating at Sidney F. Harrell Chapel of the Harrell & Hill Funeral Home. Interment will be in Cypress Chapel Christian Church Cemetery.
Friends may join family from 7-8 p.m. at the Harrell & Hill Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
