Due to the impending Hurricane Isabel, Nansemond-Su-folk Academy has cancelled all athletic contests scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 17 through Friday, Sept. 19. The following have been rescheduled:

— Varsity Soccer at Catholic for Monday, Sept. 29 at 4:30 p.m.

— JV Soccer v. Catholic at NSA for Monday, Sept. 29 at 4:30 p.m.

— Varsity Football v. Catholic at NSA for Monday, Sept. 22 at 7 p.m.

— Cross Country at Norfolk Collegiate for Tuesday, Sept. 23 at 4 p.m.

Makeup dates for Lakeland and Nansemond River had not been announced at press time.

Parks and Rec. youth league basketball starts in late Sept.

Suffolk Parks and Recreation will be holding registration for youth basketball from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturdays from Sept. 27 to Nov. 1 at Birdsong, Booker T. Washington, Mack Benn, Oakland, King’s Fork, and Northern Shores Rec. Centers. The cost is $40 for Novice (5-7), and $45 for Pee-Wee (8-10), Midget (11-12) and Junior (13-14). Proof of age and residence is required upon registration.

A coaches meeting will be held at Birdsong Rec. Center at 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 25, and games will be played at King’s Fork. For more information, please call 923-2360 or 923-2367.

Suffolk Parks and Recreation will be holding registration for youth indoor soccer from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays from Sept. 27 to Nov. 1 at Mack Benn, Oakland, King’s Fork, and Northern Shores Rec. Centers. The cost is $40 for Novice (5-7), and $45 for Pee-Wee (8-10), Midget (11-13) and Junior (14-15). Proof of age and residence is required upon registration, and a $10 fee will be added for non-residents.
