Franklin – Billy &uot;Bill&uot; Michael Scott, 87, died Monday, Oct. 6, 2003, in Chesterfield.
A native of Concord, N.C., he was the son of the late Richard and Loma Corzine Scott.
Most of his career was spent with Chevrolet, where he served as general manager and vice president for several dealerships.
He had retired from Franklin Equipment Company in June 1991.
Mr. Scott was an active member of the Elks for over 50 years, and served many positions, including president of the Virginia State Elks Assoc.
He also served on the Board of Directors of the Franklin/Southampton area Chamber of Commerce, president of the Franklin Lions Club, and vice chairman of the steering committee for the Rochelle/Prince House for the Southampton County Historical Society.
He was a member of High Street United Methodist Church for many years.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Madge Goodson Scott; one daughter, Judy Scott Powell, and husband, Braxton, of Chesterfield; two sons, Billy Madison Scott, and wife, Judy, of Charlotte, N.C.; and Col. Richard Michael Scott, and wife, Linda, of Green Valley, Ariz.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
The graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Westhampton Memorial Park, 10000 Patterson Ave., Richmond, with the Rev Linda Alvis and Rev. Edward C. Johnson officiating.
The family will receive friends 7 to 9 p.m. today in Wright Funeral Home, Franklin.
