Betsy Syme Spence, 80, of Richmond, formerly of Petersburg, died Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2003.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, Jack Graham Spence Sr.

She is survived by two daughters, Susan Spence Redwine, and husband, Jim, and Nancy Spence Spangenthal, and husband, David; two sons, Jack Graham Spence Jr., and wife, Bea, and Russell Brandon Spence, and wife, Cheri; 11 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; and one brother, Preston Trigg Syme.

The graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Suffolk.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bon Secours Hospice Healthcare or the Alzheimer’s Association.

Bennett Funeral Home, Richmond, is in charge of arrangements.
