Mrs. Mamie L. Boone, 70, of 218 N. Fourth St., Suffolk, died Monday, Oct. 6, 2003, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

She had retired from Smithfield Packing Co., and was the widow of James A. Boone Sr.

She is survived by six children, Ronald Boone of Columbus, Ga.; Shelia Glover of Decatur, Ga.; James A. Boone Jr. of Newport News; Reginald Boone, Kelvin Boone and Sandra Kindred, all of Suffolk; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, James Eason of Sacramento, Calif.; one sister, Lucille Alexander of the Bronx, N.Y.; many nieces and nephews; three daughters-in-law, Joyce, Sherry and Tracey; two sons-in-law, Timothy Sr. and Larry Jr.; and one goddaughter in-law, Alaysia White Harris.

The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday in St. Matthew’s Church, 213 N. Fourth St., by Pastor Sarah Hill. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery.

Viewing will be held from 6-8 Friday in Peebles Funeral Home.

The family will assemble at the home.
