The Saints come Home!

NANSEMOND-SUFFOLK ACADEMY
Opponent: Norfolk Academy
Time/Place: 7 p.m./NSA
Last season: A late defensive stand preserved a 7-0 Saint victory, their first win over NA since 1991.
Outlook: The Saints have lost three of their last four, but they can take solace in the fact that all defeats were to upper-echelon teams. Still, a loss tonight could seriously hurt the team spirit, just when NSA embarks on its quest for a second consecutive TCIS title. Losing their Homecoming Game won’t help much, either. The NSA offense has been reliable all year; now the defense has to tear it up like last season.
NSA 24, NA 13
LAKELAND
Opponent: Western Branch
Time/Place: 7 p.m./Lakeland
Last season: The final score could not be located, but the Bruins took a decisive victory.
Outlook: The Cavaliers faltered in losses to Nansemond River and Great Bridge, and Branch, the perennial Southeastern District powerhouse, won’t have mercy.
Western Branch 42, Lake-land 7
NANSEMOND RIVER
Opponent: Deep Creek
Time/Place: 7 p.m., Deep Creek, 2900 Margaret Booker Drive, Chesapeake
Last season: The Warriors roared to a 28-14 victory, the first-ever win over Deep Creek by a Suffolk team.
Outlook: The Warriors aren’t the team they were last season. Actually, they’re not even the team they were earlier this season, as injuries have ravaged the team. Last week, Oscar Smith got revenge for the beating the Warriors laid on them last season; tonight, it’s the Hornets’ turn.
Deep Creek 35, Nansemond River 14.
