Epsilon Theta Zetas will host state convention Saturday

The Epsilon Theta Zeta Chapter of the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc. will host its 2003 Virginia State Convention on Saturday in the Portsmouth Holiday Inn on Crawford Parkway.

Amicae Auxiliary National Director Annie Roberts will also be attending the event. The women of this organization support the programs of Zeta and call themselves the &uot;Friends of Zeta.&uot;

Other national and state officials that will participate are members of the statewide graduate and undergraduate chapters of Zeta; and the men of the Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity.

These constitutional brothers of the Zetas usually bring greetings in various program service and also offer support in various program service activities.

A luncheon will be held and include the recognition of several local dignitaries of the South Hampton Roads communities. Greetings to the sorority members will be extended from the Suffolk Mayor E Dana Dickens III, and an awards ceremony will be conducted honoring Zeta community leaders and sorors who excel in service and leadership for the year 2003.

Information will be provided regarding the &uot;2004&uot; International Boule to be hosted by the Zeta Chapter of Los Angeles, Calif. at a convention site in Hollywood, CA. which proves that the &uot;Zetas are on the move.&uot;

Organizational planning and leadership coordination for the Virginia State Convention was conducted by the State Convention and Grand Marshal, Soror Lorito Mayo and Leadership and support for all planning was provided by Soror Sheila Knight who is Basileus of the sorority.

Under the leadership of the International Grand Basileus Barbara C. Moore, the Zetas experienced a stimulating year of activities implementing new projects and moving forward on initiatives to fulfill the goals and objectives of their precepts – Service, Scholarship, Sisterhood, and Finer Womanhood.
