Myrtle R. Parker

Myrtle Reavis Parker was called to eternal rest Sunday, Nov. 9, 2003, at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Willingboro, N.J.
She was born on March 29, 1907 in Stoveall, N.C. to Jeanette and Eugene Reavis.
She attended Franklin Boarding School in North Carolina and went on to Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, N.Y., where she received a degree in Fashion Design.
She formerly lived in Suffolk, and was a dietician at East Suffolk High School. She was also an accomplished seamstress and tailor. While passing through this life she helped to raise over 100 children who had the good fortune of entering her presence. She was a gracious, loving, beautiful lady who will be greatly missed.
Myrtle was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Wilbur J. Parker Sr.
She leaves to mourn her loss two sons, Adolph, and wife, Bonnie Parker, of Atlantic City, N.J.; and Wilbur Jr., and wife, Mary, of Southampton, N.J.; five daughters, Stella, and husband, Leonard Saunders of Peoria, Ariz.; Yvonne, and husband, Alonzo Willis, and Diane, and husband, William Darling, all of Willingboro; Mrs. Magdalena Barnes of Suffolk; and Brenda Parker of Lumberton, N.J.; two nieces, Olivia Thomas of South Nyack, N.Y.; and Jeanette Thompson of South West Hickory, N.C.; 19 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Bethlehem AME Church, Burlington, N.J. Burial will bein Franklin Memorial Park, North Brunswick, N.J.
The wake will be in the church from 9 to 11 a.m.
The body is resting at W.R. Woody Funeral Home, 465 High Street, Burlington, N.J.
