Staff report
Indian summer is not over, despite yesterday’s breezy weather and brisker-than-usual temperatures.
Winds, which peaked at 40 miles per hour in Suffolk Thursday, are expected to continue throughout this morning, said Jim Gingrich, meteorologist in the National Weather Service’s office in Wakefield. Winds are expected to top out from 15 to 20 miles per hour today, dropping off around noon.
Temperatures dropped into the mid-30s last night, a trend expected to continue through Saturday night.
But come Sunday, temperatures will return to the more seasonal highs of 65 to 70 degrees, with nighttime lows dipping in the mid-40s.
