Tyrone Powell, 54, of 309 Millstone Court, Suffolk, died Thursday, Nov. 13, 2003, in Obici Hospital. He was a native of Chesapeake and son of Dorothy Ferguson Powell and the late Clifton F. Powell.

He attended John F. Kennedy High School and Tidewater Community College.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and was employed as a pipe fitter at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard.

He is survived by two daughters, Paula Y. Goode (Russell) of Greensboro, N.C., and Tyrinda D. Carter (Troy) of Axton; one son, Michael R. Powell (Nicole) of Hampton; his mother, Dorothy F. Powell, two sisters, Denise D. Clark (Sammie) of Perry Hall, Md., and Darlene M. Barnes (Rogers) of Clarksville, Md; two brothers, Marcellus C. Powell (Gwenda) of Manassas, and Dana L. Powell (Dianne) of Chesterfield; seven grandchildren; his companion, Cassandra Wright; and nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday in Crocker Funeral Home by Bishop Madison Copeland. Interment will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens.
