It is not even Thanksgiving Day yet but James M. Blair is seeing the need to kick off the Suffolk News-Herald Cheer Fund early so that it can reach its goal of $40,000 for 2003. His two contributions today total $200.
In past years the News-Herald has published pictures with donors presenting at least a $100 check to an employee who accepted the check on behalf of the Cheer Fund. We are going to do the same this year. Also with that donation, we will publish any news about you, your company or organization that you may want the public to know.
Toys have already been purchased and the outstanding bill of $40,000 has to be paid. This financial obligation that has to be raise by the Suffolk Cheer Fund will provide toys bears and gifts through the Toys for Tots program to 1,686 children from birth to age 12 in the Suffolk area.
To make your contribution to the Cheer Fund, mail checks to the Suffolk News-Herald Cheer Fund, P.O. Box 1220, Suffolk 23434, or bring your donation to 130 S. Saratoga St.
