Helen Z. Boone departed this life early Saturday morning, Nov. 22, 2003.

She was a native of Chrisfield, Md.; she resided in Gates, N.C. She was born on July 19, 1940 to the late Geneva Thomas and Oliver Sutton. Her sister, Mary Ann Wright and brother-in-law, Charles A. Boone, preceded her in death.

She was a faithful member of Faith Temple Apostolic Church, where Bishop O. Colander was the pastor, whom she loved dearly.

She leaves behind her husband, Gayron Lonnell Boone, Sr.; two sons, Gayron Lonnell Boone Jr. of Eure, N.C., and Reginald Boone Sr. of Murfreesboro, N.C.; four daughters, Michelle Norfleet of Hephziabah, Ga.; Sandra Dillard, Crystal Boone and Rosalind Dillard of Gates, N.C.; one goddaughter, Angela Smith of Suffolk; three sons-in-law, Duncan Dillard and Carlton Dillard of Gates; and Bobby Norfleet of Hephzibah; two daughters-in-law, Jackie Boone of Eure, N.C., and Tracy Boone of Murfreesboro, N.C.; 20 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two nieces, Gloria Norfleet of Charleston, S.C., and Marella Jenkins of Kentucky; two nephews, James Wright Jr. and William Wright of Suffolk; one brother-in-law, Walter R. Boone; five sisters-in-law, Vernice Chalmers, Audry Watson, Gloria Boone, Glenda Simmons, and Sharon Elem; and many other relatives and friends.

The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 26, in Faith Temple, 476 Wellons St. The body will be viewed at 11 a.m. at the church.

The family will receive guests and friends on Tuesday, Nov. 25, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Faith Temple.
