Valla N. Stallings

Valla Nimmo Stallings, 87, of Suffolk, died Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2003.
Born on April 6, 1916, in Richmond, she was a daughter of the late Grover Adlai and Alice Stevens Nimmo, and widow of Moody Eason Stallings Sr.
Mrs. Stallings served for 37 years as the executive director of the Tri-County Girl Scout Council.
She was a member of West End Baptist Church.
For many years she served as a volunteer at Obici Hospital and Nansemond Pointe Rehabilitation and Heathcare Center.
Survivors include her daughter, Sue S. Slater of Columbia, Md.; son, Moody E. &uot;Sonny&uot; Stallings Jr. of Virginia Beach; grandchildren, Margaret Eason Stallings, Kathleen Kelly Stallings and Alice Butler Slater; sisters, Faye N. Webb of Suffolk, and Marge N. Kiser of Orange, Texas; brother, Robert Nimmo of Washington, N.C.
The memorial service will be conducted at 5:30 p.m. Thursday in the R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home by the Rev. T. Floyd Irby. Burial will be private.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service.
